Immigration Specialist

Based in Croydon this position is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in solving problems being part of a dynamic HR team. Providing a quality and timely service to the business ensuring that client needs are met.

The successful candidate will:-

  • Monitor and coordinate with the business on all aspects of relocation, immigration and visa processes
  • Liaise and direct external immigration and visa partners ensuring timeous responses are gathered and employees receive accurate and time specific information and support
  • Keep up to date with and advise on constantly changing immigration regulations, including but not exhaustive of Work permits, Country specific travel guidelines, Covid restrictions and travel recommendations.
  • Update employees regularly regarding Brexit, work permit and travel restrictions
  • Advise on Brexit regulations and risks, strategize and communicate to senior leaders to ensure future risks are averted.
  • Maintain relationships with internal immigration partners in the US, keeping them informed of the UK Immigration challenges and highlighting any red flags
  • Maintain records of and apply where applicable for A1 documentation on behalf of the company
  • Liaise with internal Finance department to develop processes for setting up entities within the EU, as well as tax and social security risks within individual EU countries
  • Ensure that work permit documentation, relating to proxy or business approvals are directed through the internal legal team for approvals
  • Edit and supply client agreements and employee documentation (redacted where applicable) to ensure GDPR regulations are followed
  • Maintain sensitivity regarding employee information in the supply of work permit information and distribution
  • Consistently follow up with EU countries home affairs departments to ensure the most recommended work permit routes are being followed
  • Audit employee work permit and compliance documents to avoid future risk
  • Maintain and update the home office licences on the UKVI portal (sms)
  • Apply for and advise on sponsorship licences and support the application to recruitment process
  • Support HDR’s immigration strategy by coordinating and facilitating the process for both internal foreign nationals and identified foreign national external candidates to obtain and maintain employment authorization and permanent residency
  • Assist with HR projects as required by the Head of HR (UK)

Director Support:

  • Assist with HR/Compliance projects as required by the HR Director EMEA &  APAC
  • Support the Director with all HR and company administration as directed

Experience & Qualifications

  • The ability to project a positive, welcoming and professional attitude at all times.
  • Excellent MS skills, including Outlook, Word, Sharepoint and Powerpoint
  • Excellent Excel capability, including the ability to use formulas, Vlookup and pivot tables
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, at least 5 years in HR.
  • Must have high attention to detail, be diligent at all times and a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills are desired, but not essential.
  • Educational qualifications to a degree level, CIPD level 5 or 7 or equivalent are desired.
  • Personable and a ‘can do’ attitude with resource management experience is desired.
  • Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
  • To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively.

Hours of work – 9.00am -5.30pm ( Monday to Friday)
