Network Engineer (Remote)

Description

Network Engineer

Here at my client, we look for people who can make a real difference and become true problem-solvers. As the world of technology continues to evolve, we want people who embrace change with optimism and excitement. These are the passionate, high-performing individuals who enjoy thinking outside the box and thrive on delivering real value.

Our current team is made up of those who’ve helped shape my client into who we are today — and we’re looking for future employees who will continue to drive that passion, add new skills, and help us grow even further.

So, if this sounds like you — and the idea of working with creative, energetic, and friendly people excites you — we’d love to hear from you.

The Role: Network Engineer

Are you a technically curious engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality networking solutions? At my client, we don’t just implement technology — we enable transformation. We’re expanding our Professional Services team and are looking for a Network Engineer who thrives on variety, enjoys being hands-on, and is ready to make an impact across diverse client environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Field Deployment: Visit client sites to install and configure networking hardware including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Project Delivery: Work independently or as part of a team on professional services engagements with precision and professionalism.
  • Documentation: Produce clear, consistent documentation to support both internal teams and clients.
  • Service Transition: Ensure solutions are tested, documented, and smoothly handed over into support.
  • Continuous Development: Stay current with emerging technologies, pursue certifications, and share knowledge with peers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on Experience: Proven track record deploying networking equipment — particularly Cisco Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet, and HP Aruba (other brands a plus).
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues across hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls), and operating systems.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Skilled at producing accurate network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Mobility: Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle (frequent travel and overnight stays required).
  • Security: Ability to achieve SC Clearance and Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3 clearance to support client engagements.

Desirable Extras

  • Microsoft Ecosystem Awareness: Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure Networking, and security concepts.
  • Security & BC/DR Planning: Experience contributing to security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
  • Efficiency & Automation: Interest in scripting and automation to streamline deployments.
  • Career Growth Mindset: This is a fantastic early-career position with clear pathways for professional development and progression.
